Sunday 23rd - Saturday 29th March 2008

Fáilte Velkommen Welcome to the

Glencolmcille Traditional Arts Festival

Sunday 23 - Saturday 29 March 2008

which once again brings together some of Ireland’s finest singers, musicians, storytellers and inimitable characters  for a celebration of  Donegal music, song and dance.

The festival offers a progarmme crammed with workshops, recitals, concerts, ceili, sessions and ‘craic’. Among the highlights are many locally based artists who will be joined by visiting singers and dancers from Armagh and Connemara. In addition we are especially  pleased this year to welcome traditional musicians from Sweden and Norway to Donegal for the first time.

Workshops for traditional fiddle, box and song, Sean-nos step dance, Donegal couple dances and ceili dancing will take place during the  week. The Festival Pass allows music students to combine a variety of classes. Workshop participants will als have the opportunity to learn a few ‘pols’ and ‘springleiker’ from our Scandinavian guest musicians.
